About Me
Education: I received my training to practice Health Coaching at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, which is the only nutrition school integrating all the different dietary theories—combining the knowledge of traditional philosophies with modern concepts like the USDA food pyramid, the glycemic index, the Zone and raw foods.
At IIN, I studied the integration of all the different dietary theories—combining the knowledge of traditional philosophies with modern concepts like the USDA food pyramid, the glycemic index, the Zone and raw foods. I had the opportunity to study with nutrition, health and counseling leading specialists and educators including Andrew Weil, Deepak Chopra, Elisabeth Lipski, Barry Sears, Walter Willett, Joseph Mercola, Julia Butterfly Hill, Geneen Roth, Debbie Ford and Iyanla Vanzant. As a Certified Health Coach, I incorporate the ideas of many teachers to formulate the plan that works best for the individual.
I received my BA from Mount Saint Mary’s University in Western Maryland and worked in the communications and marketing fields after graduation. I then transitioned into working as a professional yoga instructor, working with young children with autism, and for an orthopaedic surgeon’s practice.

Movement: Finding a balance with yoga was the most important stage of practice. After playing Division I college tennis, exercising heavily for results, and being “healthy” to the point of exhaustion, I finally found ease in moving in harmony with my body instead of constant struggle. I first learned how to do this during my yoga teacher training at Yandara Yoga Institute in Baja, Mexico. In learning to listen to the signals of my body, I finally understood the importance of balance between movement and rest.
Energy: Energy moves in unique patterns even when the physical body is still. I am a certified Reiki practitioner, using a combination of energy techniques (reiki, sound therapy, crystals). I’ve found personal healing is most powerful when one is ready to grow and remain open.
Personal: I place a lot of emphasis on following gut instincts when making decisions in life. From the smallest decision to a life altering one, it seems things flow much more easily when we follow those true intuition feelings. Through exploring different modes of healing, I believe the most important part of life is not just the food we eat but the relationships we hold, the things we do with our time, and the way we conduct ourselves through it all. I feel blessed to hold the privilege of helping others discover these things within themselves.
